A Brief Overview  of What to Expect

According to an article released by Harvard Health Publishing, one-third of all women will experience alopecia (hair loss) at some point in their lifetime. Because female baldness is considered less socially acceptable than it is in men, the condition can bring about strong feelings of self-consciousness

Our medical team in Chicago is proud to offer surgical solutions, which typically generate more reliable, permanent results than over-the-counter treatments like minoxidil (Rogaine®). During our transplant procedures, we will take healthy hair follicles from another area of your scalp that is not affected by baldness and carefully transplant the hair follicles into the areas of concern. To ensure that your procedure is comfortable and carefully performed, treatments are typically performed over several sessions

Determining the Cause & Finding a Solution

Many female hair loss patterns can be classified using the Ludwig classification system. The Ludwig system divides progressive female hair loss into three stages:

Want to Find out If You Are a Candidate? Schedule a Virtual Consultation

The best way to determine whether hair restoration surgery is right for you is to schedule a virtual consultation. Simply take these steps:

Take photos of your head and scalp from various angles including the back of your head, which will act as the donor region.

If you have a high forehead, use a marker to draw your ideal hairline and take a photo of your desired results.

Send Dr. Konior a message that includes details about your hair growth goals, previous surgery, and the use of any therapies such as minoxidil (Rogaine).

Our Unique Approach Ensures Comfort  & Beautiful Results

Before we begin each procedure, we will apply a gentle local anesthetic to your scalp to ensure that you do not feel any discomfort during treatment. While some patients experience some discomfort or tightness while healing from surgery, these side effects can typically be relieved with over-the-counter medication.

As a cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Konior is familiar with the intricate patterns in which hair grows from the scalp. He combines a keen eye for detail with a specialized skillset to carefully place each hair follicle in a position where it will look natural and provide effective coverage.

Every staff member at the Chicago Hair Institute has an in-depth understanding of how females' appearances should look in comparison to men's, which allows us to produce incredibly natural-looking results.

Highly Reviewed by Our Patients

"Dr. Nadimi is one of the most precise physicians I have met with... She is very informative, professional, and motivated. She thoroughly elaborated on all the question I had. The office staff is also very kind, yet professional, which allowed me to feel very welcomed. Something I always appreciate! I highly recommend Dr. Sahar Nadimi for all of your cosmetic desires!" Surgery vs. Over-the-Counter Treatment

One of the most popular and widely used treatments for hair loss is minoxidil (widely marketed as Rogaine). Minoxidil can often slow the effects of alopecia, but it typically does not restore hair that has already been lost. Meanwhile, minoxidil is not an effective treatment option if you have already lost hair or have scarring. For many patients suffering from hair loss, surgery is generally the surest way to cover bald spots across the scalp. However, rest assured that we will never recommend surgery unless we are certain that a non-surgical solution cannot help you achieve your goals.

Let Us Find the Right Solution for You

With more than 30 years of experience helping patients enhance their appearance and self-confidence, Dr. Konior is qualified to find the best solution for your needs.

Dr. Sahar Nadimi is one of the few female surgeons who is board-certified in both hair restoration and facial plastic surgery. Forehead reduction surgery is her specialty.

We understand that hair loss can be a source of tremendous anxiety and self-consciousness for women. You can expect to be treated with the utmost compassion under our care as we work to meet your needs. You can schedule a consultation at our Chicago, IL, office today online, or  call us directly:

Not All Women Are Candidates for Surgery

Candidates with diffuse or progressive hair loss patterns are considered risky candidates for surgery. Unlike male pattern baldness, which has a well-recognized genetic basis, diffuse female hair loss is much more complicated and can have many causes.

Although some in this category make reasonable surgical candidates, the majority of those with a diffuse hair loss pattern cannot benefit from surgical intervention. Diffuse patterns often extend into the donor region and deplete the very reserves that are needed for restoration.

Therefore, proper diagnosis is necessary for women with diffuse loss in order to prevent unwarranted surgery and maximize the benefits of non-surgical therapy.
