Hair loss is one of the most personal things a person can experience. It affects how you see yourself in the mirror, how you walk into a room, and how you feel in photographs. I have been treating patients here in the Chicago area since 1988, and I can tell you with certainty: the decision to do something about it is never trivial. It deserves a practice that takes it just as seriously as you do.

That is what the Chicago Hair Institute was built to be. I want to tell you who we are, how we think, and what you can expect when you walk through our door, whether you are starting fresh or coming to us after someone else got it wrong.

Why It Matters

Hair Loss Is Personal. So Is This Practice.

Hair loss is medically benign. It will not hurt you. But the way it affects your confidence and your sense of identity is entirely real. I have sat across from patients who spent years adjusting their hairstyle, their hat, and their posture just to manage around the problem. That kind of quiet daily effort takes a toll. Restoring your hair, when it is done right, is not vanity. It is a decision to stop accommodating a problem and start solving it.

If Something Went Wrong Elsewhere

Come to Us If Another Practice Let You Down

Not every patient who walks through our door is starting fresh. Many of them have already been through this. They had a procedure somewhere else and the result was not what they were promised. They are suffering with visible plugs, an unnatural hairline, over-harvesting, and scarring that was never addressed. These patients are often the most hesitant to try again, and I understand that completely.

Revision work is among the most technically demanding in this field. Correcting someone else's mistakes requires knowing exactly what failed, why it failed, and what the scalp can still support. Our team has performed thousands of revision cases, and patients travel from across the country and abroad specifically for this work. The case below is a good example of what is possible.

After

Plug repair with forehead advancement and 3,220 grafts. Progressive thinning had exposed a "corn-row" plug hairline from an older procedure. A pretrichial browlift elevated the hairline, the leading plugs were excised and dissected into follicular units, and two staged graft sessions completed the restoration.

Our Standard

Surgeons Operate Here, Not Technicians

A large portion of hair restoration practices hand the most critical parts of your procedure (extraction, recipient site creation, and graft placement) off to technicians. The physician may draw the hairline and disappear. At the Chicago Hair Institute, that does not happen. Our surgeons personally perform every critical stage of your procedure. That is not a marketing claim. It is simply how we practice.

I am board-certified in both hair restoration surgery and facial plastic surgery, which means I approach every hairline with an understanding of how it fits the face, not just the scalp. I was a founding member of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery and helped write the examination that certifies physicians in this specialty.

Meet the Team

Three Surgeons. One Standard.

Today, I am part of a team that is applying this approach to each and every case we treat. It's my honor to introduce colleagues who give patients natural-looking results that instill a new level of confidence.

Qutaibah Khatib, MD

A Background Unlike Anyone Else in This Field

Dr. Qutaibah Khatib, Hair Restoration Surgeon at Chicago Hair Institute

Dr. Qutaibah Khatib joined us in 2025 after a career path that is genuinely unlike anyone else's in this field. A BS/MD graduate of Northeast Ohio Medical University, he spent the decade after his internal medicine residency in wound care. This gave him a cellular-level understanding of tissue repair that most hair restoration surgeons simply never acquire. In 2021, he pivoted to surgical hair restoration, completed an intensive FUE training program, and was accepted into one of the very few ISHRS-sponsored advanced fellowships in the country. His training covers FUT, long-hair FUE, lateral slit technique, beard and body hair harvesting, eyebrow and facial hair transplantation, and scar implantation. He has called Chicago home since 2015, and I am proud to have him here.

Sahar Nadimi, MD

A Specialist Who Came Back to Build Something

Dr. Sahar Nadimi is a double board-certified hair restoration and facial plastic surgeon who trained here in Chicago, then completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery before returning with a specific mission: to build a comprehensive female hair loss clinic, filling a gap most practices have never bothered to address. She is a published researcher and an assistant professor at Loyola University Medical Center. Hear her in her own words:
