In an age where an interest in quality hair restoration has been trumped by those simply wishing to profit from those with hair loss, Dr. Konior has stayed rooted in his ethics. The doctor takes an individual approach to every patient that makes contact with him about hair transplantation, whether they are from the Chicago area or an international destination. Rather than giving lip service to such a philosophy, he demonstrates it by personally and promptly responding to patient inquiries, maintaining a two-step consultative process, focusing on his patients' goals and needs, and personally performing the surgery rather than leaving technicians to do the work. He makes himself available at any time for patient questions and has a staff that performs frequent and thorough follow-up contacts with his patients. State-of-the-art Technology
Dr. Konior performs two types of extraction methods for donor hair. He performs FUT (also known as the "strip method" and FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction). He has performed FUT for over 20 years and FUE for 10 years. Neither method is new and neither method is better than the other. The best one is the best one for that particular patient's needs. Patients experiencing hair loss are exposed to misleading advertisements promising "scar less" and "incision free" hair transplantation surgery. These claims are not true and never will be true. In order to extract follicles, they must be removed in the form of a strip of skin or a follicle that has been punched free using a round cutting tool. Dr. Konior truthfully divulges to all patient that both methods are surgical and both leave some form of scarring. The doctor does not promote one method over the other as he can perform both methods in an expert fashion. He states the pro's and con's of each method to the patient and a determination is made together as to the best extraction method to solve the patient's hair loss. By staying up on all technologies and not selling one over the other, Dr. Konior is able to provide a solution that is best for that patient and not a solution that is simply convenient or profitable for the surgeon.
